Fort Vancouver Historic Trades Guild is hosting Stephen Mankowsky; blacksmith from Colonial Williamsburg.  For over 20 years smiths from this shop have come west to teach  historic work utilizing systems with minimal tooling and accurate forging skills.   More about the demonstrations HERE.

The demos at Fort Vancouver will cover, among other things, hearth cooking items from the Williamsburg archives and some fancy hinges. Each year artifacts from the Fort archives are also reproduced. 3 days of demos starting Fri 11 Oct, show begins 9:00 am On your own for lunch.  There will be a charge at the door

Three days (March 7,8,and 9, 2013) of hands-on at Meridian Forge  making a 9” revolving cooking grill (AKA gridiron) and flesh fork.  Experienced beginners can do this work.  Those with forge welding anxiety can use rivets.
