This class is offered by Oregon College of Art and Craft
We will explore basic metalsmithing techniques – sawing, filing, forming, construction, and basic patination – by finding inspiration in botanical forms. Beginning with examples of contemporary metal work to spark your imagination, we will cover basic pattern making and learn how to translate your ideas into metal. Using saws, files, hammers, stakes, and more, you can create representational or fanciful organic forms in metal.
This class is five half days of instruction.
