Working Bigger at the Bench

Date/Time
Date(s) - 09/15/2015
12:00 am

Oregon College of Art and Craft is offering this 10 week class, taught by Anne Bujold.

Move beyond adornment and apply your metalsmithing skills to the creation of small scale sculptural objects. Drawing from the traditions of jewelry and hollow form construction, students will work independently to realize their vision. Although we will work primarily in metal, incorporating mixed media is encouraged. Through a format of informal critiques, technical demonstrations, and ample open work time, students will have the opportunity to work at their own pace and explore metalsmithing from a different perspective. Please note: the OCAC Metals Studio does not have access to electrical welding equipment. This class is not appropriate for large scale work.

Prerequisite: Some metals experience is strongly recommended; please contact Anne Bujold (abujold@ocac.edu) with any questions regarding equipment, skill level, or other concerns.

Anne Bujold has been working in a variety of metals techniques for over a decade. Utilizing blacksmithing, welding, jewelry techniques, and more, she has been making custom commission work and sculpture under the name Riveted Rabbit Studio since 2012. A graduate of the OCAC Metals Department (2008), she currently works as a studio manager for the department.
