Da nada, Ries. Not an uncommon difference of style on forums with both professionals, and hobbyists, or newbies.
Someone at Practical Machinist wrote about how Home Shop Machinist had gone so far downhill. Bunch of goofballs over there or something like that. I'll be the first to acknowledge being a goofball.
I do appriciate the wisdom offered by the pro's here, there is much to learn from you, Larry, Grant and others.

Green? Sure I'm green..growing moss like my rock on this hill. I rambled around a lot, now I'm just trying to figure out how to stay as long as possible in this shop I built...

I dont know the specifics but here there are companies offering loans to finance your solar system. The higher your electric bill is the faster your payback. The loan payment would be the same as your power bill which should be down to almost nothing with the new system installed. No extra money out of pocket and when the loan is paid off you have "free" electricity. This is geared to the people with $400-$600 month electric bills.

Water powered hammers were used in, what? the 1500's?

For me, "green" is "saving money." 😉 I figure the planet will recover fully and quickly once we kill ourselves off.

No matter where you go... there you are.
