I purchased a used hammer and found a cracked handle hidden under the price tape.  The hammer had two wedges leaving the center open.

A 3/16 inch hole was drilled 10 1/4 inches down the handle.  A 1/8 inch vent hole was also drilled into the handle.

Five minute epoxy was inserted into the hole and a 3/16 X 10 inch rod was driven down the handle.

This gave me a nice ridged repair.  It will take a lot of hammering to see if it will hold up.

Let us know how the rebound feels. Also how it feels after all day. I normally just rehandle old handles as needed. In a couple cases converted the handle to a smaller handle for other things.
