Andy,
Go slow and have fun. If you mess something up, call it a design change. No one will ever know. Demos are also a good time to try something new as we never have time when we are at home. Look out for the spectators. Don't shoot hot cuts into the crowd. Always break them off and put them under the forge. Use a shoers rasp for hot filing. Always a crowd pleaser. Be kind to the person who's grandpa was a blacksmith.
Good luck and have fun

Well happy to say the demo was a total success! minus the 30mph blowing rain and being outside all weekend.... Had a lot of people come through, lots of great feedback and interest. Sold a lot of product and got a new leg vise out of it as well. Great show and look forward to doing it again next year. I gotta say that's the most fun smithing I think I've ever had, great to see the looks on the kids faces and even the adults at seeing something totally new to them.
