Swage Block Stand

My swage block has spent its life on the floor of my shop.  I finally got around to building a stand.  I incorporated a hoist, as I can not handle the 125 pound weight.  It is made from 2X2X1/4" angle iron.  A photo is shown below, along with a link to a YouTube video.

Nicely done, look very well thought out and effective!

The only thing I might have done differently was to bias the block to one side rather than center it in the vertical position. Seems like it would make the dies more accessible that way.

After thinking about Julien's suggestion if off setting the vertical block, I checked out the reach with the block centered.  It turns out it is comfortable as is, about 9 1/2" at most. An advantage of centering the vertical block is that the stresses are equally distributed on the legs.

To keep the cable from rubbing I added a brass rod. It is notched at each end. An E clip was used to hold it in place.
