Hey all:
I just installed the hardware and the door for the back of my shop... The shop is an old pole barn converted to a shop... The back, or south side of the shop had, orginally, a sliding door... Apparently, it has been missing for years... Framed up the hole, and built a door... Don't have much money, so made everything... The door, and the hardware out of what I had on hand... The door is made of 1 X 12 pine... Had to piece two short pieces together... I used hand made nails... Drove them thru and clinched them on the backside to hold the door together... I'm very pleased with the thumblatch... I tried to make one a few years ago with no success... This one turned out great! A little longer than I would have wanted, but I wasn't following a recipe, I just had in my mind how I might make one... Please pardon me for the screws... Didn't want to make screws...Here are some pic's...

Heck, I'd be happy to have those on the FRONT door!
Thanks Lee:
I wonder about my sanity... why make this hardware for the door on an old pole building??? This hardware should be on a high end cabin in Sun Valley!??!!! But, I love it... and it works great... First thumblatch that I ever made...
All the best,
Lynn
