I have never done a high end railing job and after seeing some of the guesses so far. I have to be honest and guess between 10k to 12k 160 to 200 hours.

Quoted over 20 but was built for closer to half that. It was a job that was so far from the normal operation of the shop that I had the chance to explore another avenue of work. I help design but I was not the main smith on the job helping only when asked which wasn't very often, letting go of an employee to help themselves to the whim of creation was very hard but it was my interest to see how far we could push it. I have found myself in the position of settling for less $ often to produce what I know I can and in the case of my art I am the sole backer and banker!

Looks like I need to double my way of thinking.
