Mentoring Center Event - June 2013
Cowlitz County Expo Center
Longview, WA
June 22, 2013 - June 23, 2013
Special Two Day Event!

Saturday June 22, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Demonstrator: Dave Lisch, Forging Pipe

9:00 AM Demonstration begins
12:00 PM LUNCH BREAK and Open Forge begins

3:00 p.m. NWBA BOARD MEETING (Board Meeting will be located in the building next to our Mentoring Center, where the demos/hammer-ins have been held. All NWBA members are welcome and encouraged to attend.)

In the evening there will be a potluck picnic. This is a no host, bring your own food and setup, just a chance to work longer into the evening in the forge, and to share more relaxed time together.

Sunday June 23, 9:00 AM until we're done
Demonstrator: Bill Apple

9:00 AM Short Demonstration

Immediately following the demo we must begin the task of emptying out the Mentoring Center for the months of July and August. Many hands make light work, so stay over on Saturday night and lend your hand for the Sunday move-out. Your help would be appreciated!

Camping available onsite: $15 per campsite.

I am going to try to bring my daughter, Cori, up to this. We had a chance to meet several NWBA members at the Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup last weekend, where she was demoing our wood-fired forge. It was a pleasure to meet Terry and Louise Carson and Jim Hatmaker, especially. Even after working at the forge for 18+ hours this weekend, she was eager to come home and fire it up again on Monday to put some of what she gained from them to use.

I referred a lot of people who were looking for blacksmithing mentoring this weekend towards NWBA--as we do other similar events, I will definitely bring info with me to send people to the hammer-ins.

Would it be okay/possible to bring the wood forge with us to this weekend to use during the open forge time?
