Opening Reception during the West Seattle Art Walk, November 11th, 6 to 9PM!. Show runs thru December 5th, 2009.


WHAT:
A compilation of contemporary ironwork by members of the NWBA ~ Northwest Blacksmith Association, curated by Twilight’s own, Andy Blakney and Lisa Geertsen.


The Northwest Blacksmith Association's membership spreads through Canada, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and beyond. For over thirty years, it's members have been committed to the pursuit of education and preservation of the craft, passing on their knowledge to others to create this large group of talented smiths. This show is a small representation of the membership, but it includes some of the most talented smiths in the Northwest and even the country. Our goal for putting this show together is to bring awareness to the community the possibilities that lie within the art of forged metal.

ABOUT TWILIGHT:
TWILIGHT ARTIST COLLECTIVE is a high energy, creative group artists focused on providing the venue for other local artists to share inspiration, expose people to original ideas through art, and build a sustainable artist community. We are committed to making art a part of our everyday lives, and strive to be the catalyst for a greater collection, exhibition and appreciation of fine art.

In addition to exhibiting throughout the region, the Twilight Artist Collective also operates a gallery/store in the West Seattle Junction, where they show and sell work from all the artists in the collective. The store offers fine art in a variety of mediums including: painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, clothing and much more. Lisa and I hung the show today.It looks great.Twlight Gallery has orange walls that really make ironwork stand out.Thursday is opening night.Come check it out if you can.Tell your friends and neighbors too.The show comes down december 5th.So if your in the seattle area don't miss out.

Thanks for the pics Larry! I have a couple favorites but all are plenty good enough to hang on a wall here. I really like the frog, very Tlinget/Hayda/Athabaskan, etc. and the skiing peacock is whacky good.
