Safety Glasses are required for all attendees. Bring your own or purchase on site.

Grip the cold end. Hit the hot end.

"Usually" no personal tools are required. Bring your favorite hammer if you like. If you are really interested and your name is not selected you can bring your own outfit; forge, anvil, slack tub, tools, etc., and set up adjacent to the teaching area. Your are welcome to step in and observe along with those selected for the session, then step out to your personal forging station to do the work. Anyone can observe and take notes from outside the forging/teaching area.

As always, Safety shoes, ear protection and cotton or wool (no synthetic) clothing is recommended. Eye protection is REQUIRED in all cases.

Come to the Conference and HIT IT!

There will be food available at the Spring conference, the Lariat Ladies concessionaire truck will be there. They are the ones who have served food at the last couple of conferences. If I have their name wrong please excuse my ignorance, but the food will be there and that is the real answer to your question.

Anne,
Sorry to say that there are no dogs allowed, as has been the case for the past few years. It is an insurance issue, to get insurance coverage for our conferences we have to stipulate no dogs.
thanks for your understanding,

So as a current member, is the conference fee separate from membership renewal?

Yes the conference fee and the membership fee are separate for NWBA members.
For now, the policy is that people who have never been a member can come to their first conference for the cost of a new membership, getting the membership and conference for $45, and others have to pay separately for membership and conferences. This policy for new members is probably going to change for future conferences, it has been an experiment to encourage new members to sign up.

Each new member increases everyone's ability to learn and share. I thought about the difference for new members, too, and decided I am OK with it.

If I register now, can I get a deal on the leftovers from dinner?
