Is there any info to be had on what we can expect to see at this spring (2011) conference. For the benefit of the folks who may be interested in buying advanced tickets it would be nice to see some enticements. Blacksmiths wars;ironwood derby rules: classes to be offered;demonstrators etc.
If the hot iron news comes out as late as it did on the last issue it may be too late to pitch attendance anywhere but on this website.
thanks

Grant (or anyone),

Is there a way to look up one's membership status online? I can't recall when my NWBA membership expires....

I need to renew my membership and also pay for the conference. Can I do both at once?

Sure! If you click on one of the buttons above, you'll have the option to pay membership too.

I registered myself (it should have been for my son Kyle) for the fall conference last year. It stated that 2 conferences would be included. But, I received a renewal form in the mail stating I needed to renew to attend this year's conferences. I'm a bit confused. Does it mean that the registration is only good for the conferences the year you register? I need to get him set up for this year, but I don't want to pay extra just yet if I don't need to. Ya know?

Thanks

~JP~

I'm a little confused too. Membership and conference registration are two different things. What exactly does your receipt say? How much did you pay? How many people attended?

All I have is an email from you (Grant) August 2010 stating that the website is down and he can register for the conference at the Stevenson site with his dad when he gets there. (Fall conference) Never got a receipt except on my VISA bill. Don't know what his dad paid for at the conference for the both of them.
So, he should still be a "member" but will need to register for the spring conference? I thought they were one in the same.
The membership registration is under my name, Jeannie Peck. I just don't want to miss anything and have him miss out on the conferences.

Hi Jeannie & Kyle,
I spoke with the Treasurer and he has your receipt. Kyle has a 2011 membership and should not have to renew at the Spring Conference.

Greetings. I'm a newbie - just had my first intro to blacksmithing yesterday. I'm thinking of attending the conference in April. I have a couple questions.

What's the camping situation? Is it nearby? What does it cost?. Are charcoal grills or fires allowed in the camping area or just gas stoves?. Some events put limits on these things.

Also, I read that if I join NWBA as a new member that I get a free pass to my first event. Is this right? How do I take advantage of that?

Looking forward to burning myself,
:smoke:

Welcome Tom! Yes, there is camping on the site and BBQ is fine. DO NOT join or pre-register now, you can only get the free conference by joining and registering at the site.

Hi there! A friend and I are planning on coming to the conference and are wondering if there's space at the fairgrounds to throw up a tent or something like that. If not, does the conference have a deal with any of the hotels in town for cheaper rates?

Well that's embarrassing. I didn't notice that there was a second page of comments.

Thanks!
