Hi,
I believe I understand the ability to look at the steel's color and get a rough idea how hot it is. This question is for the geeks out there...
I have a fluke multimeter that can read k-type thermocouples. Does anyone use one? What type, what manufacturer, how do I get one?
I would like to be able to measure how hot the interior of the forge is and the surface temperature of metal. I accept this will probably require two thermocouples.
Side question: I have some ITC 213, and it says it can be used on thermocouples. Does it throw off the accuracy?
Thanks!

Good Morning,
Use your finger. If it blisters, it's hot. If it shrivvels up, it's really hot. If it falls off, it is almost at welding temperature!!!:mstickle:
