Cam ; it looks like it is burning rich try lower gas pressure also pull the flare up inside the refractory a little, 1/2to3/4"
another thing is the opening of the forge itself, stack some firebricks up in the front and arrange them to give you a
4 to 6" opening or a rectangle of similar dimensions.
You will probably have to play with the jet position again as the burners seldom burn the same in the forge
as they do outside, all that blue flame burning outside shows that it is not getting a complete burn and the excess
fuel is burning when it gets to the oxygen outside of the forge a neutral flame is what you want, a little orange reddish flame coming out of the hole an inch or so is what you want to see for that, a richer orangeish bluish or carburising flame will stick out farther, sometimes you will want that for welding, yer gittin close just keep tweakin it and it'll work ....

On a side note you should make a choke plate for the intake orfice of the burner if you dont have one now, it will make tuning more precise........

Cliff, thanks for the help. My gauge indicates 10 psi so I'll try to tune it run at a low as possible pressure, I have a couple of magnets for choke plates but it will take a lot more tweaking to use them. I have a removable wall for that side of the forge and a door on a hinge on the other side. Kao wool likes to flake off, I need to apply some ITC. I hope I don't have to find smaller tips for jets. Thanks again, have a good weekend. Cam
