HELLO ALL, On Oct 27, Saturday, Chikemin Forge will host a workshop on simple blade billets. Here are some last minute details. Show up at 10:00AM. Coal and gas forges, some n2, and carbon available for you to purchase or bring your own matls. We will be forging boxed billets no flux kerosene soak. We will also be forging an iron trade style tommy hawk with a carbon steel welded edge. Forgings can be accomplished by your choice of either sledge striking on anvil or using a 50 lb Little giant hammer. It should be fun and totally unstructured. No finished knives will be produced, only raw billets ready for you to finish at your shop or home. Please be prepared to pay for some fuel costs and matls you use. Costs will be minimal. The billets which are done for demo purposes, will be sold at the end of the day. They will be sold by the blade length or inch for you to finish later. There are anvils, fire, and hammers for your use. Bring your own tools if you want to. Chikemin Forge is located on the Olympic Peninsula. It is 2 miles west of the Hood Canal bridge. Everyone is welcome. Bring your own lunch and beverages. Call Bruce Crittenden @ 360-437-2922 for questions or directions. More info in a day or two. You all come and spend the day. Dutch treat pizza run late afternoon if anyone is interested.

Sorry Bruce. The annual Williamsburg Blacksmith Demonstration is at Fort Vancouver this weekend. It has been scheduled for many months now. http://blacksmith.org/forums/c.....rg-Classes The Demo is an annual affair that I haven't missed in 10 years or more.

You folks have a great time!

Hello Bruce,

I wish I saw this at the time: I would have been there in a heartbeat. (ok, in ~3 hours... i am in the portland area... )

Gosh, I really need to pay attention.
