I could host a small get together since I have a couple acres out here towards the Mountain to play with. And since it is right along Mountain Highway we could probably attract a ton of tourists.

That is beautiful county down there.. I lived in Medford and Grants Pass for a bit... I would have stayed If I could have found good work.. It was tough going when I was there in the mid 90's though... Big mill shut downs and 20% unemployment... I really did like it though.. My two youngest boys still live in Medford.. my ex's husband is a Medford fireman...

Right down the road from me, you are! Guess I better set up a hammer-in forum, hadn't I?

Uh Larry, We're talking Ashford WASHINGTON here.

And just like that, we have a new "hammer-ins" forum under "Announcements"

Ain't but a two and a half hour drive for me as long as I go through Portland at other-than rush hour. If schedule lets me participate, I can bring an anvil and a coal forge to share.

When do we start banging?

No matter where you go... there you are.

Well lets chat with grant and get something organized. I would love to watch skilled smiths work and learn something new.

Hell I would be interested in going to a hammer-in and I got room enough at my place for a small one in the future. If we get a hammer in going I can bring anvils coal couple of forges and the rest of the trappings that go with it all.

Gene,

The 10th Anniversary, October 6th, 7th and 8th was a gathering at the Tenas Creek Logging and Railway Company, one mile west of the Paradise entrance to Mount Rainer in Washington State.
The featured demonstrators were: Ken White of England, Al Bart of Yreka, California and Russ Swider of Roe, New Mexico.
As added attractions the following blacksmiths also did short demonstrations:
Darryl Nelson and Terry Carson. David Thompson, Russell Jaqua, Jerry Culberson, Nahum Hersom, Phil Baldwin, Gene Chapman, Wayne Goddard, Smokey Adams, Karen Wagner, Monty Day, Russ Maugans and many, many others!

Thanks Jeff,

Don't have the foggyest recollection of the minor demos. other than the main demostraters, the demo area was small with limited viewing. Midnight madness was riding a railway section hands motorized truck around the compound on the RR tracks.

I am thinking in July after I get back from a class in Oregon. I just have to decide on a date and figure out the possible weather conditions.
