Hello Everyone. When I lived abroad in England for a few years my husband commissioned a custom sword for me from the Claymore Armoury in Scotland. Master swordsmith Thomas Yeudall forged a sword based on the one my ancestor, Somerled, Lord of the Isles, would have used.
Sadly, in the U.K., bladed weapons must be blunt, so my sword was not given a cutting edge. I am looking for someone with the skills to do this for me.
The sword is a Frankish-style blade forged out of Swedish steel, of the same type of iron ore found in the Ruhr Valley. It was tempered at 54 Rockwell. The blade it 32", the tang is 6", for a total length of 36".
Can someone tell what it would cost to sharpen the edges?
