Hey everyone, I just came across this forum and I'm looking forward to meeting some new people who are interested in blacksmithing.

At the end of September I finished building a forge with my father out in Nampa. Unfortunately for me its about a 20 minute drive for me and I was unable to use it for more than a few hours throughout October and partly through November due to a busy weekend schedule. Before the holidays I one tong blank and hopefully I will find time and weather to work on finishing up my first pair of tongs.

Here is a picture of my humble setup:

And here is my grandfather's anvil that we are using:

I look forward to learning more about blacksmithing and hopefully I can meet some like minded folk near my here.

Thanks!

Hi Josiah,
We will be hosting a large blacksmith conference in Government Camp OR on Aug 22-25 2013. Folks have come from all over the world in the past. It is a great opportunity for you to meet some other blacksmiths and learn some new techniques. We will have world class demonstrations, and hands on classes. Think about attending. More information will be posted as it gets closer. The website is http://www.westernstatesconference.com
