I'm very new to the Blacksmith trade. My brother and I just took our first Blacksmith class a couple weeks ago. We took a Beginning class from Tim Middaugh at Old West Forge. We had a great time and plan to take more classes. Right now we are trying to get our shop and forge set up. The hunt for tools begins!

Welcome aboard and we hope that you find this place some where that you can learn and post questions and such about blacksmithing.
I haven't been blacksmithing very long either, but I have learned a great deal of knowledge right off this site. Anyway, hope you like the place here, it's kinda friendly.

Glad to have ya!!! Be sure to check out the forums for whatever you might want to learn... After that, post your questions in the appropriate threads and... Boom!!! You'll get answers!!! Also, be sure to be at the Spring Conference in Longview.... Look me up when ya get there... I'll be running the "hands-on" classes...

Hello Mike glad to have you. Try and make the new open forge in longveiw. Will be a great demo and quetions answerd time and get to put a face to names. A good time to get in the fire also.This is for all members.

the tool hunt is he best part. There are always great tailgate sales at the conference. Best place to start your collection.
