Hey all, my name is Matt. I am a machinist, but I am also interested in traditional handicrafts. I want to get into blacksmithing because a friend and I have a mutual interest in military history. He and I want to learn blacksmithing so we can make knives and axes, and eventually muzzleloading muskets and rifles.

Now I realize that forging a long rifle barrel by hand is a skill I have to build myself up to, so I hope being a part of this community will be a great resource for me. Hopefully I can find a blacksmith here that knows a thing or two about muzzleloading gunsmithing, and perhaps can show me these things in person :)
