Mike here and I live in North Tacoma. About 40 years ago I used to pound on little chunks of iron and nail them on horses' hooves, but never would have called myself a blacksmith nor even much of a farrier. So lots of things got in the way and for several decades I put my tools away and joined the rat race. The rats won, by the way. I moved from Colorado to Tacoma about 15 years ago.
So now I have 'sorta retired' and have a bit more time, resources, and inspiration. So I dug out my old Champion rivet forge, my pathetic Fisher anvil and some primitive tools I have hauled around for about 4 decades and 7 or 8 states. My shop sits outside under a bunch of HF tarps so for now I am a sunshine tinkerer. I am looking forward to learning some new skills and unlearning my bad habits.
I had the good fortune to be able to make the get-together on Oct 22 and watch Arnon's demo, plus met some nice folks, including Lee and Jim our Prez and Treas, and Paul from Olympia. Plus a few others whose names escape me. Thanks for the kind welcome and I look forward to participating as much as I can. My other hobby is Ham radio and I am the secretary of the Radio Club of Tacoma, this year celebrating its 100th anniversary.
