Sciaki (Welders) you could weld the crack of dawn with some of these.
Fellows, gear hobbing, I think
Cincinnatti, maching center
Harding, lathe, memory trouble here
South Bend, lathes EE
Blanchard, grinder I think
Clausing, lathes
Okuma, machining center
Brown and Sharpe various
I worked maintenance, electrical/electronic on these and many more 26 years, retired 14 years ago, only have a multimeter and amp meter now in my tool bag.

It was realy nice to work on most American machine tools, the manufactures had great blueprints, schematics, manuals, and or training if you went to their schools. Not so with the later years with foreign imports.

I am not a machinist, I was very fortunate to stumble in the trade of repairing machine tools, mostly /electricity/but did turn a few wrenches with the maintenance machinists too, we worked together.

If electricity leaks, you may get shocked. when hydraulics leak, get cat litter, never saw a hydraulic mahine tool that didn't leak.

Just a casual observation of a machine tool maintenance guy.
