Longtime NWBA member Larry Langdon's shop Monster Metal in Auburn Washington, which houses Quick and Dirty Tool Company,  burned in a raging fire on October 20, 2015.  The two alarm fire was put out after firefighters from several local departments spent hours battling the unruly blaze Tuesday evening. Thankfully no one was hurt, Larry and his dog made it out safely and no one else was in the building.  Unfortunately, the damage is very extensive, tools, equipment, and the building are just a few of the tangible losses.  Monster Metal will…

If somebody can get together a list of what Larry needs,I'm sure lots of us have equipment he can use. I sure do,and will be willing to make a trip up there with some "stuff". Eric Sprado

To expand on what Eric said. If we can get a little organized. With a list of what they need to help out would be good. IE: use of equipment or labor on such and such day to move things or fix things, etc. Someone with time and ability to organize members.

I'm closer to Auburn than a lot of people, but I'm not sure what I could do. Perhaps tomorrow (the 24th) we could talk a bit about it.

There is a gofundme fund for contributing to their rebuild. Also, Larry and Andy should be coming up with a plan that will include how many hands can help them get back on their feet... so stay tuned. I will publish any news that I find out. Glad to hear you want to help out Morgan.

Hey All:

Larry Langdon and Andy Blakney lost their shop in a fire about a month ago...  This shop housed their business and also their livelihood..  The NWBA board, at the last board meeting, discussed how we might help them out... Trouble is, since the NWBA has become a 501(c)3 Non-profit corporation, the board was concerned with how a not-for-profit corporation donating to a for-profit business might be viewed.  So, the board decided to not contribute as the NWBA... However, these guys are our brothers!!! We are family!!! They could certainly use our help!  There has been a gofundme fund set-up, I understand... Please, all of you, contribute something...  If you can't find the gofundme fund, contact Admin... Amy will be happy to help.
