To member, friends, guests of the NWBA. I received word several days ago that our friend and fellow smith Eric Sprado has been hospitalized with serious heart problems. Information we received from his wife was a heart attack on March 20th, a triple bypass on March 24, and back into ICU on 27th with complications. Received update on the 28th that he had stabilized and was showing signs of improving. I know Eric has posted on the forum many times asking questions and offering help in finding tools, etc. Those of us who attended the 5 States Gathering at Mount Hood know that he does a very respectable job on a fiddle.
I had not seen any announcement on the forum about Eric so I don't know how many people are aware of his condition. I will post more and an address soon. As per Kath (Eric's wife) cards, letters, hopes and prayers are all welcome, just no visitors at this time. Lyn Cane

I'm sorry to hear about Eric's situation. He did a fine job on the fiddle at Mt Hood, here is a photo I posted of Eric and the Clinkers.

I talked to Pat Cane on Friday, and she was kind enough to forward Kathy Sprado's message about Eric to me. Here is a quick summary: Eric is home, taking short walks around house, still very tired and sometimes in quite a bit of pain. Blood pressure and blood sugars are good. Kathy's dad was able to come to help them. He's in the medical field and has been able to give advice on medical issues. Bottom line - cards and phone calls are welcomed ( Eric is only managing 1 min. calls, might be awhile before he returns calls) But Please call ahead to see if he is up to having visitors! He needs his rest.
Here is Eric's contact info: Eric Sprado 91612 Nelson Mnt. Rd., Deadwood, OR 97430
you can leave messages on his cell phone @ 541 915-2282 or call the house @ 541 868-5667
The Eugene address is for his business. Lets lift his spirit with lots of cards and well wishes and prayers! Trust me, you can never have too much support in times like this. Prayers for your recovery Eric!
