To whom it may concern,
My name is Nicolas Cress and I am the Camp Director for Camp Grizzly located in Harvard Idaho. Since 1938 Camp Grizzly has been the the source of adventure for close to 500 boys each summer.
Every summer we try to unveil a new program for the boys to teach them a new skill or activity. This year we are starting a Blacksmithing program with the goal of teaching the boys the dying art. Many schools are closing many of their skills based programs so it is important to me to provide a way for boys participate in these kind of programing.
In order to build this program I am looking for donations of new and used equipment to help build up a lasting program. Some of the equipment we are looking for includes anvils, hammers, hardy tools, tongs, files, punches, vices, aprons, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, etc. We already have a coal forge however another one would allow us to expand the program and would be appreciated.
I would really appreciate any assistance in building this program and know together we can succeed in bringing this dying art back to todays youth. If you have any items you are able to donate please feel free to contact me at nicolas.cress@scouting.org or by calling 509-242-8243.
Sincerely,
Nicolas H. Cress
