Hello NWBA,

My name is Nat and I live outside of Portland. I am looking to start up with my blacksmith work again after a long hiatus, hopefully as a supplement to my present income, with the chance that it could replace it.

I learned from more than one area of study that the best way to learn anything is to study under a master. I am looking for someone who has an established shop or space available, someone that I can learn from and help out with their own projects. I would want to start off slow but sustainable, build up skills and ability and then try to tackle something really big and amazing.

My interests are artistic blacksmithing and knifemaking. The business I want to build would reflect those but would try to be as diverse as possible.

Please, if you feel that you or someone you know might be interested, please get in touch with me.

Take good care

Nat Hamilton

Nat,
Joining the NWBA will give you access to our monthly hammer-ins in Longview, WA, not far from Portland.
These are planned for the 4th Saturday of most months and are open to all NWBA members free of charge.
Some of our most talented and successful smiths will be demonstrating for the group and then there will be an open forge for all to work on what was demonstrated and more. These hammer-ins are designed to be a place for smiths to share techniques and tips, and to build friendships among our members. Hope you consider joining the NWBA and coming to these events.
All our hammer-ins will be at our new clubhouse at the Cowlitz Expo Center in Longview, WA
Dates:
January 26th 9 AM
February 23rd 9 AM
March 23rd 9 AM

April 26th will be our Spring Conference, also in Longview.
