Hi Guys,

I have two anvils with undersized hardy holes.  The holes started out years ago to be 1" square but are now about 7/8" to 15/16" due to nearby hammer blows.

What is the recommended procedure to bring the square back to a full 1" so my tools can fit into the hole?

Thanks!

Bernie

Sounds like a job for the 'ol cape chisel. At least that's what I would try first. Smile

No matter where you go... there you are.

That or a good file. Depending on how mushroomed over the entry is.

I figured out a way that seems to work:  Used a die grinder to get down there and clean out the mushrooms'

Thanks!

Bernie
