I just finished this knife yesterday. It is my first knife of many hopefully. I am not thoroughly pleased with the grinding on the handle, so I might try reshaping it. The handle is stabilized walnut I believe, and the blade was forged out of a three inch piece of coil spring. I am new to this and would like info on knife grinders, looking for something economical. Thanks for looking

Hello David, my friend has an anvil that he says is from the Civil War. It is missing it's horn, which he says was due to the opposistion breaking the horn off of anvils in the towns they passed through, is there any documentation that supports this. I'm sure he would enjoy knowing. Thank you!

Daniel- I have read accounts of that happening. What better way to immobilize your enemy than to damage his ability to make and repair things? Ever try to turn a horse shoe over the edge of an anvil?

Very good work, Daniel.
You will reshape handles forever if you are like me. Getting things out of your mind and into your hands is always a challenge 🙂
