as things turn I really never seem to know what I am really doing, yet somehow it makes sence

whatever that may mean.... none the less my adventure so far has been good i pretty much let myself go out where ever and work and education has been good

I now have a canon Xl-1 video camera and i am looking for a wide angle lens so i can get good shots up close (i figure that most of my shooting will be pretty confined due to typical shop size and the wide angle lens will make carrying a big camera with me worth while besides I need a large tripod because I plan on working and just letting the camera roll and get many hours of footage and edit it into something understandable)

the camera doesnt record in true HD but due to youtube compression it will be youtube HD quality weird how that works

I hope that I can make something informative yet not super dry and boring that people that may not know anything about blacksmithing will still be interested.

I am going to go work with brian brazeal in the middle of may and then the adventure will be on again.

pretty much i figure if i can keep working with people for room and board and keep most of the money that I busted my butt to get in ontario that I should be able to get my skill level up to a standard that I should be capable to head to england and be useful and that people will desire to have me work with them and be able to complete the tasks they may have for me to do.

before i head that far I will probley head west from missippi I was going to head to new york but now i am thinking I should just keep my current job and bust my hump for the next 7 weeks and use the money for my trip and head as far and wide as I can newyork will always be here and i have a place to stay in ontario whenever

if anyone is interested in having me come and work with them and film the work yet me know

right now i fabricate and cut with the torch for everything lol we do alot of repairs and fabrication structural and various things for heavy equipment and trailers and so on

I have about 3 years of blacksmithing under my belt
about 2 years of machining
and about 4 years as a welder/fabber/sheetmetal worker

I am not a professional film crew but I have some understanding of light if people were interested in composing there own film i can film it pretty much for free if i am working with you I probley wont be editing the footage myself (or if i do it will be after I return home) as I dont plan on bringing my laptop which is why i got a camera that takes dv tapes

everything that I film for myself will be put up on youtube for free viewing for the blacksmithing community if other people want to do something else with what I record for them that is up to them and more than fine with me.

in 7 weeks I should have enough money to make this a heck of a journey (hopefully the work holds out)
I really would like to work in the united states and get my hand forging skills and powerhammer skill up to a level that I can be directly put into work where ever in europe, so that I can really learn as much as possible and I dont really want to head across the pond until i feel confident that I can really do it

Ah, for the life of a journey man.

“There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but then there are others who, with the help of their art and their intelligence,
transform a yellow spot into the sun.” ~ Pablo Picasso ~

Sounds like fun Bryce. Good on ya for having the guts to head out like that.

If you need a place to store your Anyang, I have a vacant spot in my shop in Saskatchewan where it would fit nicely...
