Well this isn't a blacksmithing link, but I suppose it can go here? For those who are interested in metal work of all kinds, Oregon College of Art and Craft will be hosting a retrospective of 20 years of the culminating project of the Metals program - a raised sterling silver teapot.
As a graduate of the program, I am very honored to participate, and also very excited to see all the teapots that came before and since I was there.
I know it sounds boring, (tea and silver...) but people make amazing vessels for this project!
(And of course mine has a forged steel handle and finial. :p)

The opening is at the Hoffman Gallery on the OCAC campus, Thursday January 10th, 2013, from 4:30-7:30.
8245 SW Barnes Rd, Portland, OR

Cheers!

That looks like a great show.
Do you have a photo of your teapot that you could post here??

Hey Andrea - here's a photo of mine - the only good pictures I got were before it was totally cleaned up, so there's still a bit of firescale, which is all gone now.

Here are some images from the opening. If you're in the area and interested in raising/forming, this is a pretty unique show and worth checking out. It'll be up for the rest of the month. They collected, I believe, 38 teapots spanning 20 years of the project being part of the Metals Department curriculum.

Thanks Lynn.
I work primarily in steel now, but I think there was an enormous benefit to my metalsmith training. Well it's like they say, "the more you know..."
