Anyone in the Spokane/Coeur d' alene area know where I can find coal?

Hey Andrew,

Just FYI stoker coal is anthracite (hard) coal, which is harder to work with than bituminous (blacksmith) coal. Not to say it won't work...but it doesn't coke up as easily - check out the Wikipedia entry on bituminous coal. Steve at Incandescent Ironworks in Spokane sells 50# bags of forge coke for a very reasonable price. Costs more than anthracite, but worth it.

Thanks for the info on coal, I do plan on buying coal from Steve when he gets back into Spokane. I.can't wait to look at his shop.

I have coal for sale to NWBA members at $25 per 50# bag, will be at the Spring Conf. with a couple of tons. This is high quality metalurgical coal, very good analysis. I will also be bringing coke (if the truck from GA arrives on time!?) Call Jim von Mosch 509-493-2246 or mountainbrookforge@gmail.com.
