Being as there will be a new webmaster shortly I for one would like to say for the record that I love this site the way it is and I hope my fellow friends and smiths will agree with me and speak up if you want to see this site stay as it is.

My biggest fear with a new webmaster is they will want to come in and completely re-design our site. The saying "If it aint broke, dont fix it" comes to mind.

Whomever grants replacement is needs to carry on where he left off, and give the members what we want.

I know there have been a few complaints about the layout of the sight as it is, but also the percentage of our over 900 members that don't like the layout are hardly enough to justify change. 15-20 people out of 900+ isn't much.
I for one am a member of nearly 20 different websites with message forums based off the very same vbulletin format that our site is run off and millions of people use these sites daily without a problem.

That being said fellow members speak now! :spin:

I come to our site nearly everyday, and every weekend for sure. I just wish I were more computer savy so I could contribute more. So far I have been able to find everything I've wanted to look at. I would only change it as an evolutionary process as groups needs change. Thanks for all the work Grant, you and others have done.

My hope is that the site continues to allow the free expression that is more limited and moderated on other blacksmithing sites. The unique character of this site pleases me.

I am not a great contributor to this site either at this time, but I do like how it is run and for the most part enjoy its layout as well. I would prefer that it stays the same as well. I also do not know who is the next "Webmaster" of this site, I do not really have enough time to devote to it myself otherwise I would be willing to do it. I unfortunately work at a "job" which is also why I'm not a big contributor. I come to this site to get information and sometimes distribute my own thoughts as well.

So, yeah, I wish for this site to continue on as it has been, I like it like that. :wavespin:

I never agree with Neil, I like it the way it is, and i don't care what he says.

One thing I would like to see, as a little memory of Grant and I don't now if this can be done, but in the address bar that says blacksmith.org/forum/whatever there is a little box to the left. If you book mark facebook, or really any company their logo is in that box. I'd enjoy having Grant's little burning man avatar in that box.

I'd have to agree with that myself.

This is a great website. I have no complaints about it.

I don't contribute too much here as I feel truly outclassed by the highly skilled members. I don't think I have too much to say that the veterans around here would be interested to hear (unless it's some really low-brow joke in the 'Vegas' section). The talent is not diluted down here.

That being said, this site is very easy to browse around and I really appreciated Grant's style of moderation. I personally wouldn't want to see any major changes.

I was amazed at how large this webpage is and the thought that went into it. Way better than most larger organizations. Don

Very comfortable with how it is at present. See no reason for change.
