Hello all, I've been plugging NWBA on another forum whenever I see someone from our region, but some of the comments are leading me to think we don't use our own forum enough. Particularly one person mentioned that our site seemed dead. I have to agree in part, because I've seen very few posts of questions and answers recently. I have met new members in Longview doing open forge practice (there were at least 3 last weekend), but no one who just finds our website is going to know much about that if we don't show activity here too. This apparently isn't limited to us on our website, Quad State in Ohio was mentioned too. So I encourage all to post your projects with pictures, questions, answers, stories, etc. so the outside world can have a better look at us.

Man do I ever agree.   I made the post on another site that this forum looks dead.

I would love to see more local action on this site, after all, we live in the best location in the US and have a lot of talent out here.

I have been around machining and blacksmithing for a long time, and now that I am retired, I am pulling my anvils and forge out of a long time storage.  I am starting a build on a dedicated forging shed, mainly to set the forge up out of our rain and to remove some clutter from the main shop.   Also have  been ordering quality steel for knife making, although I already have a big supply of 1095.

I have a fair supply of coal but I plan on making a run to White Salmon sometime in the spring to pick up a ton.  Looks like Jim at Mountain Brook has the best!

I plan on entering the pattern blade area:   Bought 5 pounds of borax last week!

I have found the "other site" to be a bit unfriendly and have become reluctant to post there, mainly due to two of the long time members that seem to run the place.   Hope this NW forum becomes alive with a lot of friendly folk.

Start posting guys!

Wow, not a mouse stirring!    This place is really dead.   Where are the folks?

Found this one three weeks ago.   120 pound Columbian.   In very good condition!
