I'd like to see the old web site back. It looks like we are watching the new version die on the vine....iForge Iron is looking much better these days, compared to what has happened on this forum the last year plus. Such a loss for all the work that Grant and others put into creating it.
I agree Mike. When Grant passed the site took a hard hit and this new improved thing is....Well, I'm not impressed.

Well I am not a fan of the new site. But the old site was a pain until I started using it. I am sure there was a good reason for changing. What it was i don't know but I am willing to put up with a little inconvence while the bugs get worked out.
I did not join the NWBA for the web site but for the blacksmithing. If you bail because of the site than adieos and good riddence.
Blacksmiths are smarter and tougher than to let a little tech run them off.

I’m sure I could come to grips with this new format as well......but why? The problem with the old site was......? The old format, as set up by a working blacksmith, seemed to have a pretty good following, even after his passing, there was a great team of administrator’s to keep it informative and fun. And so we’re to adjust to this new format because of someone’s ego?
I chose not to!

Hey,you guys, what's the matter? I hear a lot of "I don't like it " but no specifics. The first thing the moderator says is ,give us your input, what do you like? What don't you like? We are working on it . Go back and read the home page....post your comments with specifics .....it will work better if you do that . Quit being so negative........
whats that 2010 saying.... It is what it is .....quit being problem makers and start being problem solvers.
The directors are aware of a few issues and tech help is on the way ...be patient and give it a break and a little time.
remember....we're all here cause we're not all there....

Alright time for me to chime in a little also. I'm pretty close to computer illiterate unfortunately. So first off I like having access to this forum and the NWBA. I'm glad it is here for us to share and learn from each other. As this asked what changes we'd like to see here goes.
My thoughts on the website:
1. It's going to take time, life is change and change means struggle. In this case learning to navigate. So I give this time to grow on me. (Not like a mold or a fungus though please). jk
2. Is there a way to lessen the broad right/left borders? As that ends up taking a good chunk of my computer screen.
3. With more screen available, thus more useable can we enlarge the font used? For myself at least it is hard to see. I end up sticking my face in the laptop scree and taking my glasses off in order to see the screen which effectively makes me blind.
4. Can we change the overall color contrast? it is stark around the borders and then blends too much soft on the inside. (Which goes back into I can't see anything very well, thus come in less often.)
5. I'm still giving this time for myself to learn it. It will take time.
6. Maybe a tutorial section for some of us? I don't know I'm just tossing thoughts out while I am putting in a few cents worth of my thoughts from my point of view, not that they are anyone else's, but constructive thoughts were asked for and I'm trying to be constructive.
7. I am repeating myself to ensure that this is taken positive. I am glad we have the NWBA and this site.

I definitely agree about the contrast and the size of the fonts on the page and the buttons. That is in my to do list for sure.
I think a tutorial section is a good idea.
By broad left right borders are you referring to the black space on the sides? just to be clear about how to address all issues.
thanks so much for the feedback and patience.

You're welcome Amy.
I couldn't do this so it's good you are trying to enhance the website and make things better for everyone. Yes The black space on the sides, seems like with that lessened it'd give more room for type. It also may help to make what's left of that the soft contrast, or at least a softer one.
