In the old forum there was a "what's new" button that would just show new post's since the last time you were logged on. Haven't found it on the new one yet - am I looking in the wrong place or is my favorite button gone forever?

I agree, you have to scroll clear to the bottom on forums to see new posts. Not very user friendly if you ask me.

In the top left of the page, just below the large title is a button View New Posts, this pops up a window that shows the new posts.

The display of the new posts is not as convenient as the what's new button in the old system I agree, but it gets you there.  And there is another link directly to the list of new posts at the bottom, just like the What's New button:  On the far right side of the page, just under the dropdown menus for "Newly/Recently Updated Topics" and "Select Forum"   it says "# topics with unread posts" and an arrow that takes you straight down the page to the list, without scrolling.  That list of what is new is more like the old system.

hope that helps.

Oh, I forgot to mention, that if you are NOT LOGGED IN the arrow that takes you to the New Posts at the bottom of the page will just be an arrow without the words "topics with unread posts" ,  and it takes you to the bottom of the page where there are the newest posts.

Glen, I don't see it either. But next to the words  "topics with unread posts" there's a pair of marshmallow clusters you can click on. One marshmallow gives the what's new list and the other one clears it out.

No matter where you go... there you are.

it doesn't work exactly as I explained, but one of the arrows there when you are logged in does take you to unread posts. The View New Posts button under the title of the forum also shows you new posts. It does not work exactly the same as the old site, and maybe not as well, I will explore this further and see if I learn something about it... but not until next week, signing off for now. thanks for your help working through the bugs.

Amy why did we move from the old format for the web site? I have to admit I liked the other web site better and it seemed more user friendly.

Bill, I moved the website to a format that would handle the articles and events listings better. The forum moved to a new system, but the entire old forum is there, every post, attachment and forums and topics are titled the same as well. A few things I combined. Also, I made changes to some of the Members Only forums. The Member Roster, and HIN (currently not working but in the stack for fixes to happen very soon) are now part of the regular web pages and not in the forum.  The gallery will be returning as well, currently I am working on making sure that all the imported images from the gallery are attributed to the correct member, and when that is worked out the entire gallery will be here as well.  I am sorry that you do not like the new site, hopefully you can hang in there long enough to see the problems worked through and the conversations to build up again on the forum.
