Anyone in the market for a BIG hammer?

I got a call yesterday from a fellow in eastern washington who got lucky enough to buy a bunch of machinery out of Kaiser Aluminum defunct building... In the lot he got already was 100lb and 250lb Little Giant.. He plans to keep the 250 and most likely sell the 100 at some point soon... But he called to ask me about the "big" hammer.... Its a Chambersburg self contained... He figures its got a 40-50 HP motor and said the ram is 14" in diameter... Sounds to me like its 700-1000 pounds... Which would mean its 30,000-50,000 pounds worth of machine.... He said it looked pretty newish and thought it could be bought for less than 5K, maybe even 3K.... Of course the cost to move it would far exceed the cost of the hammer not to mention what it would cost to set it up.... So most likely it will go to scrap... A very sad thing..... Any of you out there want to play with a big boy hammer? Id sure like to find it a home before it gets scrapped... Id like to have a "big" hammer but I haven't even got my 4B running yet, Im not ready to give up on it, nor am I going to spend 20K to install a hammer in a rented building...

Wow! What a beast. I'd love to see it.

Nelson Trucking and Omega Morgan specialize in moving heavy machines like this. Omega has a 100,000 lb. capacity forklift. Nelson probably has something similar.

The ideal thing would be to leave it where it's at until you had the new footings poured for it. That way the movers only need to come out one time.

Turns out its a 15CH which is a 1500lb hammer..... I think total weight is in the 80-90 thousand pound range... The anvil alone is close to 20 ton...
