I just got back from my first blacksmith class which I took at John C Campbell with Charley Orlando on Oct. 31 and happened to find Shel Browder's workshop being offered at Darryl Nelson's the next weekend. I was lucky to find another class so soon and so close to where I live (British Columbia). So after 5 days with Charley, and 3 days with Shel I have learned a lot in a short time. I'm 60 years old, so you're never to old to start something new. Here is a picture of the weekend square corner workshop. I still have to clean up my work. I am going to file the ruler and etch in the measurements.

Nice work. Glad you were able to make it to the class. We expect to see you at the spring conference in Longview, Washington. You might want to mark the same dates on your calendar for next year's Demo at Fort Vancouver and the Hands on class the week following. Discussion is to either have Shell Browder again or possibly Jay Close. Both retired out of the Williamsburg Blacksmith shop and worked under the direction of Peter Ross.

I wish I had the time and money to go to that class. Perhaps the next time!

Looks like some nice stuff you learned there!

Good one Paul. The next time you are in the Okanagan I am in Summerland. Would love to have a coffee with you. Keep up the good work.

I may be up there next year when the weather warms up. I haven't driven that route since they put in the Coquihalla. Now that I'm retired I have a lot more free time. Did part of the Kettle Valley last year, but just from Brookmere to Princeton. Maybe I'll head up to Summerland.
