    Kick Ass 150 hammer

I had thought I was going sell this little guy but I just cant bring myself too... I dont use it all the time but when I need it its the perfect machine really... I wish I had a little more control of a hard blow, it has very fine control of soft blows... Anyway I took the pic's when I thought I would sell it.. I figured maybe someone would just like to see.. This is one of two KA 150s that are still in use, only three where built, I got this one from Grant and rebuilt it a while back..

We have a kick ass 75 at work, they are great! If I got my hands on a big one like that I don't think I'd ever let it go!

How do you like that foot petal? We use our KA way too much, but we had 2 of those new style petals fail in the first 2 years? The first KA we had lasted for 10+ years if I remember correctly and this new one seems to be junk. It does seem though to have a bit more control. Are you getting them from the kick ass guy or are they available from someone else for a better price? (they are in the 200 dollar range if memory serves correct)

    Hey Grant!
Since this thing is your brain child maybe you can answer, why did you go with two different cylinder sizes? It seems to me that if the cylinders were the same size it would cause less wear to the bushings, keeping the top die from favoring one side and slowly wearing into the guide bearings? Just something I've thought about during the countless hours I've spent using ours. Also are you guys running an in-line oiler? if so what are you using?

hope you boys are having a good weekend so far!

I think the foot pedal is part of the reason I dont have good hard strike control. I am not smart enough to figure out something better though. When I got this from grant it had a monster valve on it but the way it was configured it was on/off.... it was used to make a full blow every time you tapped the pedal... It was used to imprint the sides of breaker bits with the manufactures name... So I swapped it to the pedal the Bergman uses, and yes it was about $200... its a very useful tool.... I would be interested to see if or how much harder this one hits than a 75.... I think that because of the air system it is not living up to its full potential...

how big are the dies on your ka 150?

I think your right about the petal having to do with your controll issues. ours seems to have about the same amount of controll.

    Hey Grant you sleeping?
