Thread: Hallo from Idaho..

  1. Hallo from Idaho..

After many years of dreaming I decided to finally start on my dream of metal working. I spent an entire day looking up the specifics on how to go about designing a pyrolysis chamber for making charcoal and in the process stumbled across som blacksmithing forums.

I got to thinking it would not too bad an idea having the know how of people who have already been where I am at giving some advice and guidance. After trying several forums, this one works and so here I am...

Looking forward to getting know people and learning from basically square 1 on up as I get started on this venture.

  5. I am up in Troy Idaho not far from Moscow. I lived in Payette Idaho years ago, my dad was a horseshoer there for many years.

Just call me Ed, my dads name is Roy and so is my granddads so I have always gone by my middle name.

I will have to check out your link, so far I haven't checked out any links from here yet. Just been reading for the most part trying to find out more about using charcoal as fuel for the forge and peoples experience at making it.

Thanks for the welcome and hope to get to talk to you more in the posts..
