An older person I met asked if I could help him sell these tools. He is an older gent who no longer has a need for the items.Normally ,I would know better and not get involved, but I did look at the tools and thought they could be a set for a new smith.the anvil is a 200# star that shows up in the postman book,Anvils in America. Its a cast iron anvil with a tool steel face similar to a Vulcan. It has a good size chunk knocked out of the far side but still has a lot of working space. So the story goes ,the anvil came from his gramps plantation, in the south.the post vice is a 4" it's all there and has a big old bolt for a handle. The shears are nice and big ,the tin knocker bench style.they are marked Peck,Stow, and Wilcox ...the predecessor of Pexto. The stuff is in Port Townsend ,Washington .The old boys name is Rodger phone at 360 301 5195 . E mail at raponf@centurylink.net.He is pretty firm on the money so don't think you are going to steel this stuff away from him,and he also does not want to piece it out.The snips are quite old and dated pre 1840 .The star anvil could be worth the repair or just use as is......it has been yard art for a while......Good luck.
