Wild West Festival Needs a Blacksmith!

Western Living HistoryMy name is Monica Pigeon and I represent the Western Living History Non Profit Organization in Missoula, Montana. Our Organization is hosting an annual event, Ol’ Wild West Fest, at Fort Missoula on August 3rd and 4th, (Saturday and Sunday). (see attached flyer) This event has been held for the last 9 years in Helena Montana at the Kleffner Ranch, however it was moved this year to Fort Missoula. Here is the link for the festival http://westernlivinghistory.org/index.html

Historically this event has had attendance of approximately 3000 people over the weekend, however we are likely to have more now that we are in a more populated area.

This public event is designed to help educate the young and the old on how the west was lived. As such, blacksmithing was a vital part of the old west. Our past exhibitor, Buck Hart from Flying R Forge will not be available this year and we are in need of a new blacksmith. I am emailing all of the board members with the NWBA and NRBA in hopes that you will be able to help us find a quality blacksmith who can come and set up camp and show the public how blacksmithing is done.

Exhibitors do not pay a fee and they can sell their wares free of charge as long as they do exhibits throughout the festival. They will also be able to park and camp for free and attend the Grand Ball on Saturday night.

Please feel free to forward this email to any of your members or other blacksmiths who you feel would be beneficial to this cause. You may contact me directly on my cell at 406-830-0464 if you have any questions.

Happy Trail, Monica Pigeon
