Northwest Blacksmith Association

Member Gallery and Association Tree

Bring your forgings to display at our pop-up Member Gallery at Spring Conference!

Just grab an info sheet at the registration table to display alongside your work in the Gallery. And while you’re at it…

Make a leaf for our NWBA Association Tree! If you bring a leaf from home or make one during Open Forge at Conference, the leaf can be any shape and made from any metal. We’ll also have a stamping station for attendees to add their name or the names of others to copper leaf blanks that will be provided at the station.

About the names: you can add your own name to a leaf or someone else’s name. Once you’ve made a leaf, you can hang it from one of the many, many branches that best describes that person’s role in our association.

Some of the branches are labeled Members (add your name to this one!), Founders and Oldtimers, Our Promising Future, Organizers and Planners, Respected Expert Blacksmiths, Great Teachers and Respected Mentors, Inspiring Artists and Craftspeople, and plenty more.

From the Hot Iron News Article written on the subject: “This NWBA Tree is designed to be more than a sculpture made by a handful of people… Our NWBA Tree is designed so that all of us can interact with it and help to complete it. And in so doing, to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate what each of us brings to the Association. This tree is intended to remain a work in progress, just like the Association it represents.”

Tons of thanks goes to Lee and Dorothy Cordochorea for organizing this event and for writing the article for the Hot Iron News!
