I'm thinking of attending the ABANA annual conference June 5-9. It's the 50th anniversary. I've never attended a national conference, and this sounds like it might be a good one.
Any other NWBA folk thinking of going?

It is at the mothership in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. A haul from the NW, thus the "thinking about it". I understand that before they (we?) had a home base, the annual meetings would rotate around the country. I think there was one in Seattle not to long ago, but now I think they are all gonna be in Pennsylvania. From what I've seen, the place looks really nice.

I just booked my flight and registered! (?) If you're going, let me know. I'm flying in June 4 and back out the 9th from Pittsburgh. I'll have a rental car for getting there and back, if you'd like a ride (maybe pitch in on the $ or if you're strapped will accept scintillating conversation in trade) and timing works out, great.
if the car thing doesn't work, at least we can meet up for a NWBA rep-ree-sents at ABANA.

I was mistaken, the ABANA conferences do seem to rotate. This year it is in Johnstown, PA but when I actually went and look, it does move about.

I was heavily considering going. Especially because I am missing the eclipse, I think the ABANA 50th would be a fun alternative. Amtrak is only $314 per trip to Pittsburgh, anyone want to take the train with me? It is much better for taking blacksmithing tools (no security checks, three bags for free, etc.)
