Hey Danger! Can't see your shop. You are in the country aren't you?

I think that's John's neighbour!

Still? Me? I'm just making fuel for my lawn mower, officer! And I got a powerful lot of grass to cut too!

John Newman.

So, you would be the funny looking building?

No, I meant this post. I think the guy in the chair is Johns neighbour.

Yeah that is a couple of the guys next door on break. I am the little building to the left, last building on the street. Neighbour on the other side is a toxic waste processor. I was going to replace all the concrete out front and pave the area with the weeds a year ago, the forklift bringing in the Massey ground up the slab out front pretty good, but then the work dried up. Things are busy again I think I am going to get that area cleaned out and graveled. I should probably hire some students to paint the building as well.

Yeah, clean that place up now that we can all zoom in on you like that. Wonder how often they will re-photograph? You imagine a truck going up and down every street to get those pictures? Keep expecting John to step out the door. So, you have a pattern shop next door??

The pattern shop next door is my ex employer. About 6 years ago he laid everyone off except 1 guy he needed to fulfill ongoing contract obligations. He was not going to produce patterns any more. I bought my building from him and some of my Patternmaking machininery, he was using it as warehouse space storing patterns for a customer. Almost immediately he was subbing work to me and over the next couple of years he has built back up to 7 guys.
It can be handy being next door we borrow supplies from each other. I have a larger disc sander than he does and he has a profile sander that I don't so we occasionally use each others machinery as well.

I notice they haven't been up your road yet so we can see if you have been cutting your grass or any neat machines laying in your yard.

I almost forgot to add that my shop is centrally located. I'm 200 feet from a bar, a liquor store and a chinese resaurant.

That would be like, what? The three food groups?
Ryan: be sure to note that on his profile!

My four food groups: chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, and cholesterol!

Once in a while with mail order customers I Google Earth the address, just to see where folks live. One stands out, Blue Jug Landing, WV if I remember right.

I sold a Antler and Iron II booklet (Mt Man folders) to someone in Shangahi China, years ago, told my bladesmith /knifemaker friend Wayne Goddard, his comment was "Mt Man folders, China, that don't compute", got a smile out of that.

I suspect it was a knifemaking company, but haven't seen any Mt Man folders coming out China.

Enough ramblings, light the barbecue.

Gene! You didn't post your location, or you got someone on the inside?
