I'm looking for a blacksmith or two with in an hour or so of Sandy, OR who would be interested in spending time with a Whitlox Wood-Fired Forge. I need some feedback on it that isn't just us talking about our own product to put on our website, as well as to inform any changes that are wanted for specific applications.
What I propose is that we bring you a wood-fired forge and an electric blower (or you can use your own blower.) We will supply you with some wood chopped to the right size. You keep the forge for a month, and give us feedback that is okay to publish and permission to photograph at least one or two things you made using it. At the end of the month, we pick up the forge, or you can have the option of keeping it at the wholesale price.
I would welcome just about anyone with the needed tools for this. Beginner, advanced, knifemaker, traditional, etc. I just ask that you have an anvil, tongs, hammer, etc. of your own, time to devote to using it, and the integrity to return it in good shape at the end of the month or buy it.
You can find out about the forge at WhitloxHomestead.com. Message me privately for more info.
Tammy
