The forums are slightly different in appearance but the exact same forums with the entire history, attachments etc are still here. The titles of the forums are the same.

New post links are found at the bottom-left of the home page. Click on the actual post title, not the topic title. the topic title is what sends you to the beginning of that topic, that is what you are seeing that is old.

The new posts are also found at the left column in the forum pages.  Again, click on the title of the thread, not the title of the topic and you will be brought to what is current.

Below is an image of the forum and you can see the red box I drew around important buttons and info: It tells you how many unread posts YOU HAVE, if you are logged in. Right next to that is an icon of a talking bubble with a plus sign on it, that takes you to those unread posts. The checkmark is to mark all unread posts as read, to clear your unread post list. And the arrow after that takes you directly to the bottom of the page for the last post in that topic.

I did not think that the content management section of the website was good, it was not the forum that I was trying to fix.  If you go through the pages of the website, outside of the forum you will find Events, News, Archived Documents and Hot Iron News. The gallery will be returning almost exactly as it was before, same software the latest version.

I am sorry that you are thinking I just wanted to mess things up that were not needing fixing.  I do hope you will take the time to work with the site as it is now, get to know how to do what you use to do in this new environment.

Several weeks ago my tab for the forum started saying "Web-site not found".  I figured that the forum had been discontinued.  I spent several weeks without this forum, which I checked twice each day, until today I mentioned to a customer in Washington that the forum was gone and he went onto the web-site and found it and then passed the information on to me.

So I went to Blacksmith.org and found it but had trouble figuring out how to log in.

I am not familiar with this style forum software.  The biggest problem I see now is that when I open a thread the posts are in the opposite order as commonly found.  I looked for a place to change the order to "oldest first" but did not find it.  I also am used to having a "new posts" button.

Wayne,

When this site first went live it was in oldest post first order. Many people complained that they wanted it newest post first and so I changed it.

The new posts button is within the forum part of the page, just below the drop down menus "New/Recently Updated Topics" and "Select Forum" there is an arrow shaped button that says "__topics with unread posts" with the number of topics with unread posts. If you click on the arrow next to that text you will be able to go to newest posts you have not read.   On the far right side is a list, newest first, of all recent forum entries.

I hope that helps you find things, I will try to answer questions as you have them and I apologize for any difficulties. I am going to try to make the site easier to use. I hope you check out the front end pages, where there are regular articles posted and many other resources available. Some things that use to be in the forums are now found in the main pages of the website, especially under NWBA News, Events, and under the Resources menu tab.
