i am doing the oregon state fair and could use some help demoing .. i will provide forge and steel just need someone to watc things and help so i can sell amd get lunch ect...should be able to get a pass to get you in...the dates are aug 24 thru sept 3 ... help would be appreciated!

Is there any kind of on-site camping for vendors or anything? Need to work out feasibility but I'd love to come help out for a few days the second weekend of it.

there is a campground on site close by where the booth is and i will be there with my rv.. it costs something but we may be able to work something out...

So, any word on cost of camping? Will this just be a general blacksmithing demo or are you doing something in specific?
Also, is anyone else going to be at the fair? Maybe we could meet up for some beers or something. 🙂

probably add you to my camp as i will be there the whole fare in my rv... and the demo is to get people interested in buying what i have for sale .... if there is something specific you want to learn i can probably teach it ...if you plan on a lot of forge welding bring flux as i am almost out...I have been blacksmithing for right around 30 years nowmostly doing various public shows (from rondezvous to i did christmas in seattle once)i have done the puyallup fair for 8? 9?years now i am not up to building big gates but .... i have done a few knives and even a sword or two.....will get in touh with you when i can talk to the person running the artizan village..

Pretty cool. I'm sure we can figure out some fun projects. I still have tons to learn. Can probably bring some borax with me but I haven't done any welding yet and I'm not sure a demo would be the place to try it out. lol.

Everything is set, will be down there from the 27th til the end of the fair. Got a good list of stuff to make too.
P.S. What is the policy on alcohol at the camp site?
