Hi.

I hit the "quote" button to reply to specific comment, and nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? (And how can I do it correctly?)

Thank you.

No matter where you go... there you are.

okay... now it's working...

...maybe it's a Firefox thing? Computers were so much easier in the '80s...

Lee,
There are a lot of browser issues, and firefox has some, though usually works fine. The worst browser for this site is Internet Explorer, and I am working on fixes for that. I am glad you got the quote button working.
I will be putting a forum or page together soon (not sure where it might be best, maybe in both places), where I will post in an easier to find way the How To's for this website.
thanks as always for your patience.

I had some probems quoting as well.

1 I think the quote button should be at the bottom of the post. That way it is easy to quote something which is what you would do after reading it. It is just a hassle to go back up to the top of the post, especially if it is a long one. Several times I accidentally quoted the next post.

2 Sometimes if the post I wanted to quote it would quote the entire page including the quote they did, May not be a problem just different.

3 When I tried to edit to make the original post smaller to only quote a part of it the text that I typed in became part of the quote and showed up in the quote box.

After a long time fussing and trying different things I was able to make some acceptable looking posts but it was NOT easy.

I am taking your comment into consideration. The problem I am noting is that the Reply button is outside of the post box itself, and the quote button is inside it, repeated with every post. That means a bit more hacking than just simply messing with the template of the forum. I am going to be less likely to do that.  When I put this message in, then preview it, it looks fine to me. I get that if the post is super long it can be awkward getting back to the top.

in short, I am not sure that this will be changed to your liking but I am thinking about it and looking into it.

Thank you for looking. I remember seeing you wanted specific examples of things in another thread so I thought this might help.
