Got photo's of an officers sword believed to be from the wreck of the U.S.S. Shark in the 1840's. If any one is interested, I would be happy to pass them along via E-Mail. The sword is in as found condition but you can still make out some of the detailed carving on the bone handle and some nice work on the scabbard tip. Our E-Mail is kcdcweld@wwest.net

Hey Dave,

Would you be willing to put some of those photos in the gallery? http://www.blacksmith.org/gallery/

That way you'd only have to fuss with them once, and everybody could enjoy them. Laugh

No matter where you go... there you are.

Lee, I have put them in the members gallery for all to enjoy. As you can see, the sword is mostly covered in concretions with just a little detail showing in the bone handle and scabbard tip. The museum has had x-rays taken of this sword and the detailed work is still evident inside. I will try to get copies and will post them if I do.

Dave
